In the later part of December 2008, Barrett Richard Jordan was arrested following an RCMP investigation into a “dial-a-dope” operation in both Langley and Surrey, B.C. The officers wouldn’t know at the time that Jordan’s arrest would set off a chain reaction of legal events that would lead to a Supreme Court decision in Jordan’s name.

For Shanda Roslyn, cheerleading and makeup always went hand-in-hand. But, now she has turned her makeup artistry into a business, partnering with a friend to help clients boost their self-confidence.

Jonathon Lloyd has always been in the business of serving people. After he moved to Calgary, he opened a bed and breakfast with a focus on the LGBTQ community. Although this focus on the community and his relationship with his business partner has changed, Westways remains one of Calgary's greatest bed and breakfasts that has overcome various challenges.

Before taking a leap and committing to her first Big Girl YYC workshop, Tamara Brown had plans to have a life-changing surgery in order to lose weight. Following her exposure to the organization, Brown experienced a fundamental shift in her beliefs about her body, deciding not to go through with the procedure.

"If Big Girl YYC can do this for me, I can only imagine what it will do for others. I feel like this is just the beginning of something so spectacular,” says Brown.

In this shift toward body positivity, she is not alone.
