When it comes to Soca music, those who know and love it will tell you how Soca becomes a part of them. It is a specific style of Caribbean music that was born out of love and continues to bring people together. 

Every fall, a new young woman is crowned the Calgary Stampede First Nations Princess. On Sept. 22, Cieran Starlight of Tsuut’ina First Nation took the stage at Enmax Park alongside six other young women who competed to take her place. During her last day as princess, Starlight attended the fall fair to perform traditional dances.

Sneaker collecting has seen steady growth over the last few years, having gone from being viewed as a niche hobby to becoming a global market. Collectors (or “sneakerheads,” in colloquial terms) have invested themselves into their passion due to the unmistakable impact of Nike, Adidas, Jordan and many other shoe brands. 

Video games are changing as rapidly as our reliance on them, serving functions that go well beyond entertainment and escapism.
